Designer Alice McCall began her fashion career working in London where she was born. McCall worked as a successful stylist for 10 years amongst A-list celebrities, major brands, and fashion magazines such as I-D Magazine and Dazed and Confused. As a lover of vintage shopping, in her spare time McCall would make and sell 1950’s inspired silk dresses that quickly garnered popularity. In fact, Kate Moss was wearing one of these dresses when she first caught her lucky modelling break! From there, McCall designed for brands such as Buddhist Punk, and then moved to Sydney in 2003 to design for Sass and Bide.
Soon after, At 2004 Australian Fashion Week, her label Alice McCall had debuted and was an overnight success. Now more than a decade later Alice McCall is stocked in premium boutiques in Australia and internationally. The brand has collaborated on diffusion lines with companies such as Target, Top Shop and General Pants. Alice McCall is quickly becoming a household name, with celebrities such as Beyonce, Rose Byrne and Chloe Sevigney frequently wearing her designs.
Her style is unmistakable. It’s eclectic, playful, and unashamedly girly. Lace and embroidery are hallmarks of her designs, inspired by her passion for vintage shopping. Her fabric choices are often unique, with sheer materials, textures and sparkle often making their way into the collection. McCall’s experience from styling is evident in the way her pieces are conceptually strong, yet mix and match well with other pieces.
Dresses, playsuits and baby doll silhouettes are amongst what she does best. This is the brand to wear when you want to stand out for a super fun girls night out!
